A Park Within the City: Jubilee Park

We are all too familiar with the events that have taken place at Fort Canning Park. From ancient artifacts to historical landmarks and hidden tunnels left unattended after the war.

Bringing your kids here may be a little farfetched as there aren’t many things they can understand at such a young age. Leave it to their history teachers in school to introduce them to the history behind Fort Canning Park which is formerly known as Bukit Larangan or “Forbidden Hill”.

Tucked away in the west of Fort Canning is a place where you can bring your kids. A vast area for recreational fun in the sun and a space where you can bond with your kids! Rest assured, they will enjoy themselves! Jubilee Park is situated on the western slopes of Fort Canning which offers a variety of play for the young ones!

The playground in the park blends pretty well with the natural environment: slides that are built along the slope of the park and a series of logs that are scattered which can serve as a fun wooden bridge for kids to climb and be guided by their parents.

Wheelchair-friendly swings are also available! Sandpits can be found in this playground too should your kids fancy building a sandcastle. Don’t worry as there are waterpoints available for you to wash up after!

Parents can accompany and play with their kids at the netted play structure, providing a space to climb and fall safely. Let’s not forget our go-to Seesaws and wobble boards!

Tired of playing? Tiong Bahru Bakery can be found in the park too should you need a break from the sun. Given the vast range of pastry to choose from, there will be one that you’d enjoy! We would highly recommend the Kouign Amann. Try it and you’ll understand why!

Jubilee Park Playground was first opened at Fort Canning Park on 27 May 2019 and has become a popular destination for families since.
