Looking for a foliage escapade? Singapore may have its fair share of its “greens” conserved for trekkers or adventure-seekers like you to explore. We had planned for a short trekking session and eventually decided to try the Forest Walk. You are in favour, if you’re still indecisive.
Within the hearts of Alexandra, lies a stretch of high-raised, steel pedestrian footpath that provides trekkers with a scenic walk over stretches of forest located beside Gillman Barracks.

Before you get into the forest, you’ll be welcomed by the Alexandra Arch – a pedestrian bridge that spans over Alexandra Road leaning over vehicles that pass by below at a 70-degree angle.

The walkway stretches for approximately 2.4 km, which provides a connection between Alexandra Road and Telok Blangah Hill. With multiple picturesque spots – a glimpse of colonial-era houses, that’ll definitely take one’s breath away. Be sure not to congest the passageway as it’s actually quite narrow. Subsequently, you’ll be greeted with a gentle incline of the walkway, and eventually, you’ll wind up at the hilltop of Telok Blangah Hill Park.

That basically summarises the Forest Walk, but of course, we were too enthusiastic to stop our adventure and continued trekking along Telok Blangah Green. Approximately another 1 km, you’ll be able to catch sight of the famous Henderson Waves. Another one of Singapore’s quaint spots that’s worth the sweat and effort.
