Halal Authentic Italian Restaurants in Singapore That Is Perfect For Your Italian Cravins!

1. Kucina Italian Restaurant

Established in 2016, Kucina was founded by Chef Gero - a pioneer in Italian cooking with 25 years of experience in renowned restaurants like Da Paolo and Garibaldi Group. Being a Muslim revert, he was inspired to create authentic Italian food that can be catered to everyone including the Muslim community. Since the commonly used ingredients in many authentic Italian dishes are non-halal, Chef Gero, being an experienced chef he is, had to find replacement ingredients for the dishes without compromising the taste. The fact that the restaurant is visited multiple times by President Halimah Yacob herself speaks volumes of the dishes offered here.

Our personal favorite would be the Tortellini Di Manzo and Risotto Di Seppia. Do you want to know why? We are not telling you definitely. Grab it and have a taste and maybe your curiosity will be answered.

Another fun fact of the restaurant itself would be the name. The word “Cucina” means kitchen in Italian. To cater to the local enunciation of the words, the letter “C” is being replaced with “K” instead. So, what are you waiting for? Head on down and visit Chef Goro's personal Kucina to have a taste!

2. Positano Risto

Positano Risto is a halal Italian restaurant that is located at 66 Bussorah Street. Mirroring the town of Positano itself, this place does not only provide you with good food, the service is unlike any other and the ambiance is to die for. Positano is recognized as one of Italy’s most romantic vacation spots and one of the top Amalfi Coast towns to visit and a Unesco World Heritage Site. The restaurant in Singapore is as close as we can get since the pandemic.

It is also ranked as Singapore’s #1 most reviewed Italian restaurant while the neighboring outlet in Publika KL is #1 Italian out of 202 on TripAdvisor.

Enough of the accolades, let’s talk about the food!

The establishment is known for Positano’s Signature Boston Lobster Fettuccine, which is a creamy lobster bisque fettuccine that is enough for two or more. As pricey as it gets, the price is proportionate to the serving and the taste. Authentic yet rich, it is unlike any other lobster bisque in Singapore.

Best eaten with a partner but even better if you have it all to yourself! Haha!

Another dish we would highly recommend would be the Positano Super Supreme Calzone. Slightly different than a calzone (closed dough pizza), the Squisito version of an open calzone is something to talk about! The calzone is cooked in a proper oven with its circumference folded into an inner circle leaving a triangular-shaped crust. This triangular-shaped crust serves as a pocket for fillings such as blue cheese, mushroom, and pastrami. You’ll never know what you’re going to bite into but it will definitely be delicious.

There’s no point mentioning all these dishes if you don’t come and taste them for yourself. Wait no further, head on down to Squisito to have a mouthful of authentic Italian dish served up to perfection.

3. Squisito

Squisito is a rather new casual dining place located in Bali lane. A one-stop destination to solve all your Italian food cravings. The restaurant provides delicious pizzas, creamy pasta, and savory lasagne! With a local twist to it, the taste of the food will definitely satisfy your food pallet.

Feeling adventurous? We highly recommend you to try the Gnocchi di patate with truffle (gnocchi with creamy mushroom truffle sauce) or Ravioli All' Aragosta (lobster meat ravioli served with prawn bisque). It is a chef’s recommendation on the menu for a reason right? It’s a bonus too since the pasta is freshly prepared every day!

If you like it simple, the Margherita Pizza (tomato with fresh buffalo mozzarella) and Squisito's Speciale di Carne pizza (topped with turkey ham, bacon, and beef sausage) is a safe bet when it comes to pizza in Squisito.

There are plenty more recommendations that we can provide but it’s best that you head for yourself or bring some friends along with you to enjoy these Italian delicacies. Trust us, it will definitely satiate your appetite for good food!
