Nestled in the mature estate of Tanglin Halt – a neighbourhood very close to the hearts of many golden age Singaporeans – lies what may be Singapore's first independent community museum. Opened in December 2018, the gallery was completely funded and curated by Queenstown residents, avid history enthusiasts and volunteers. Priding itself as the first satellite town in our city-state, Museum@MyQueenstown captures the rich history of the locality, showcasing and celebrating the little things that make Queenstown special.

The gallery, filling up a space of a single shop unit tucked within a row of shophouses, offers deep insight into the commemorative milestones that transpired through the years and parade artifacts of nostalgic value that are dear to the residents. With the deep-seated dedication to preserve collective memory of community stories, this museum was an effort lovingly curated by non-profit organization My Community.

Mark your calendars and plan your visit to Museum @ My Queenstown! Immerse yourself in the richest of local history, and revisit the town’s glory days as a central entertainment site when coming face-to-face with iconic neon pink signage from the demolished Queenstown Cinema and the worn-down pins from the Bowling Centre. The photographs and stories aplenty will leave you with a meaningful lesson to appreciate the blessings we have before they are gone.
