For the second year running, a firework display will not be gracing the night skies at the New Year’s countdown celebration at Marina Bay. But not to worry, these pyrotechnics are here to stay and are not completely off the table; you can catch the marvelous displays at the comfort of various heartland locations.
If things are to proceed similar to how it was last year, these locations are where you would want to end your 2021 and usher in the year 2022!

New Year’s Eve (NYE) celebration fireworks at Marina Bay may be a thing of the past – it is twice now that it has been scraped off the plans – but do not be dejected, there are still many other ways to welcome the prosperous year ahead!
1. Spend precious quality time at home with your family
The benefits of celebrating at the coziness of your home, and partaking in the countdown via the many celebration programs at home means that you do not have to worry about getting stuck in the crowd and dealing with the heat. If you are blessed with unblocked views that set up for a great firework viewing by your window, you have the best deal of all. That, and topped with congratulatory wishes and hugs with your loved ones will be a meaningful celebration to have. Plus, you are fulfilling your due diligence as a responsible citizen in limiting any possible transmission!
2. Experience interesting light displays in MBS

Shine a Light Display
A good deal of dazzling light shows for you to enjoy in Marina Bay, even though it might not be the best substitute for the absence of fireworks but definitely an adequate occasion to end the year with spectacular lights beaming the Marina Bay skyline.
This event is part of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2022 – “Shine A Light”, and presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) together with the benevolent organization The Majurity Trust. The light show starts from 8 pm – 10.30 pm every night.

1 – 31 Dec 2021, nightly, 8 pm – 10:30 pm with extended showtimes till 11.45 pm on 31 December. A 2-minute animated light sequence will play every 15 minutes, with the last show at 10.30 pm (the last show at 11.45 pm on 31 December).

Share the Moment Light Display
Another light show named “Share the Moment” will be casting a collection of students’ artworks that portrays soul-stirring, sentimental moments where people have gathered to give their best for others during tough times.

26 to 31 December 2021, 8 pm to 10.30 pm, with extended showtimes till 11.45 pm on 31 December. The projection shows will take place every 15 minutes.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, and the Merlion
Marina Bay Light installations
Part of the Marina Bay waterfront alongside Marina Boulevard will also glisten with momentous light installations and projections. You’ll experience many-splendored colors features along the Marina Bay waterfront.
