Oasia Hotel Downtown, Singapore

OASIA HOTEL DOWNTOWN

Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola is the brain behind the eye-catching Oasia hotel. The hotel is built on a modest 2,300 square meter tract of land in the Tanjong Pagar downtown business district of Singapore. It culminates with a sky garden that effectively brings nature into the urban area, its four sides of a red lattice convergent into an elegant open-topped barrel. Nearly impossible to overlook the hotel!

Through the clever use of three sky gardens, each with six-story ceilings, evenly spaced across the building's 27 stories, the design cleverly triples the amount of open space available. The club room and the infinity pool with its garden are located on the 21st floor.

In contrast to the western building concept of keeping the outside out, each sky garden brings tropical foliage and climate inside the hotel. Two sky gardens feature infinity pools, lounge and coffee areas, and a communal yoga and wellness center.

The entire floor was designed with a natural theme in mind, with an open concept, extremely high ceilings, and lush greenery to maximize natural light entering the area - multiple "Golden hour" opportunities!! These, combined with calming music played throughout the day, created an extremely relaxing atmosphere.

Food & Drink

Breakfast is served on the ground floor at the Marmalade Pantry restaurant, which features an extensive international menu buffet. Those staying in club rooms can get theirs at the Club lounge on the 20th floor.

While the food selection was more limited, the atmosphere was relaxed with impeccable service. Even more appealing is the Happy Hour between 6 PM and 8 PM, when cocktails and alcoholic beverages are complimentary.

The menu is small but should satisfy almost everyone's needs, ranging from the standard breakfast plate to salmon bagels and avocados. You may place an unlimited number of orders. The breakfast menu is available below.

Facilities

It was light and airy, with bright open spaces and furnishings, making the space feel even more inviting. The Skyline Pavilion is one area where you can take in the city views.

There were plenty of sofas and chairs for guests to relax and enjoy the scenery. The pool was relatively long, with sun deck chairs strategically placed around it. One thing to remember is that many of the club floor rooms have a direct view of the pool. A couple of small cabanas were nestled in a plant-filled area to the side.

The Oasia Hotel Downtown's Club Room had all the frills you'd expect. There was a bathtub, rain shower, cable TV, a sliver of sea view, and a fully stocked fridge as part of the Club Room Benefit!

Finally, if you want to work up a sweat, the 24-hour gym is your best option. It is not a large space, but it has all of the basic amenities for you to sneak in a quick run or workout.
