Hot Weather Singapore: 8 Things You Can Do to Beat the Heat!

Updated: Mar 26

With Singapore's hot weather, you walk out of your house, ready for the journey to work, only to find yourself perspiring profusely in places you had no idea you could perspire. And before you know it, you're going around with swampy pits and Airism shirts soiled with sweat patches.

Temperatures in Singapore are normal during April, May, and June, but the last two months have been particularly hot.

Don’t worry; we feel it too! We’ve listed ways for you to beat the heat!

1. With Singapore's hot weather, you can still have a snowy day!

Visit Snow City Singapore for the ultimate cooldown. In the tropics, try snow-tubing and making snow angels! Play snowballs, view ice sculptures, visit an igloo, and enjoy other winter activities in the heart of the tropical metropolis.

2. Jump into a pool!

Visiting the Singapore public swimming pools with waterslides, water jets, and lazy rivers is the perfect way to beat the heat and keep the kids entertained. Furthermore, most public swimming pools have extremely low entry fees!

3. Go for a massage!

After a long day of hustling, an enjoyable, luxurious massage is exactly what those aching joints require. The ones that last more than an hour include a head massage, aromatherapy essential oils, and dim, ambient lighting. Bliss.

4. Unwind at the Cozy Place

On days when you want to stay in and binge-watch some Netflix series while enjoying the cool breeze from the AC, but you know your parents will nag about how expensive the bills will be owing to the excessive air conditioning usage, head over to Cozy Place!

With privacy issues addressed, it's time to turn down the lights and curl up on the sofa in front of a 75-inch Smart TV. It boasts many streaming services, from Netflix to Disney+ and even YouTube, so there are many entertainment options. Most importantly, the entire room is air-conditioned.

5. Indulge in an ice-cold treat.

In this scorching tropical heat, you scream, I scream, and we all scream for ice cream. Singapore is a lot more pleasant when you treat yourself to an artisanal cup or a classic cone, thanks to an abundance of ice cream stores selling a wonderful selection of flavors.

6. Spending some quality time in a Library

This is indeed one of the more uncommon ways to fight the heat. We all know that libraries are usually air-conditioned, so cooling off in one may be the ideal way to beat the heat, especially since it's free to enter and the quietest location you'll ever be in. Perfect for a place to relax and enjoy some books, or maybe your downloaded series on Netflix!

7. Have fun without breaking a sweat!

If you're looking for something entertaining to do but don't want to break a sweat, try ice skating! There are only two ice skating rinks in Singapore (but as of 7 August 2023, there will only be one ice skating rink in Singapore!) The Rink's ice marshals will keep an eye out for you as you express yourself on the ice.

8. Sing your hearts out!

Hitting up a KTV is an excellent, no-hassle option, especially if the weather isn't cooperating. Even better if prices start at S$2.30/hour per pax.

So gather your closest friends, warm up your vocal cords, and start making reservations.
