The Bazaar Ramadan might just happen this year! According to Berita Harian, there is an open tender to get organizers for the event. Although the good news is in play, expect changes compared to the previous years before the pandemic.
At least 3 Bazaars are planned for Ramadan 2022, and 2 of them are on traditional home grounds – Geylang Serai & Kampong Glam.
Expect the bazaars to be smaller in scale compared to previous years, with tight safe-distancing and crowd control measures.
A weekend-only bazaar will be held in Simei.
This year’s event is named the Geylang Serai Hari Raya Shopping Experience (GSHRSE) and will feature a lineup of vendors selling food for the breaking of fast, festive décor and wares.

According to The Halal Eater, visitors to GSHRSE can expect to see 40 stalls comprising of only 8 halal food stalls and 32 non-food stalls, a sheer difference from the previous bazaars.

The festive season of Ramadan is when we can expect bustling bazaars with plenty of tasty food to splurge on.
After 2 years of cancellation due to Covid-19, we are finally able to witness the stretch of goodness lighting up the streets along Geylang Serai with bedazzling festive lights, and colorful beverages displayed on the front.
How we’ve missed the vibes at night, driving past the bazaar as the scent of grilled goodies such as Dendeng, Ramly Burgers, and Ayam Percik flows through your windows.
